The U.S. imperialism continues to weaponize supremacist violence to divide and exploit peoples, he pointed out.

On Thursday, Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil asserted that the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) continues to be the moral and spiritual vanguard of the peoples of Latin America.

During his speech at the 24th Meeting of the ALBA-TCP Political Council, he recalled that the alliance emerged 20 years ago as a response to neoliberal aggressions in Latin America. Nowadays, ALBA-TCP reemerges as an alternative to fascism, hatred, and imperialist destruction. Gil pointed out that Latin America is the stage for a struggle between a project of emancipation, independence, and shared happiness, and a colonialist project of neo-fascist oppression promoted by the United States.

“Venezuela and our countries are the epicenter of this battle. That’s why the U.S. imperialism and its satellite nations incessantly attack our institutions, political models, and economies, seeking to destabilize us,” the Bolivarian diplomat said, reminding that Latin American peoples have resisted these kinds of aggressions for 500 years.

“Just as Spain sought to destroy our identity, the imperialists intend to do the same thing today. Although that country failed in its purpose, modern imperialism insists on breaking our emancipatory will, forcing us back into slavery, and imposing the domination of capital,” he said, describing the resurgence of fascism globally as the authentic expression of “imperialism in crisis.”

“Fascism is a threat to the nations of the Global South… U.S. imperialism continues to weaponize supremacist violence to divide and exploit peoples. In Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba, it seeks to destroy the social and economic achievements made by their revolutionary governments.”

The Boliviarian foreign affairs minister recalled that Venezuela created an anti-fascist international organization as a Global South platform to stop the rise of imperialism and fascism in all its forms. He noted that the initiative was supported by representatives from 95 nations who attended an anti-fascist congress in Caracas on September 14 and 15. Gil also condemned the brutal crimes of the Israeli occupation army against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

“Today, Israel intends to wipe out the Palestinian people and their ancient culture of fraternity and love,” the Venezuelan diplomat stated, recalling that ALBA-TCP has strongly condemned the genocide in Gaza and demanded compliance with United Nations resolutions calling for the end of the Zionist occupation and the creation of a Palestinian state.

Finally, Gil pointed out that the horizon of ALBA-TCP’s integration is expanding toward the Global South, creating a rapprochement with BRICS, the economic cooperation group initially made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. “This rapprochement will allow progress toward the consolidation of a multipolar world in which countries develop and coexist in equality and justice,” he concluded.
